Gm throttle body injection article from Trucks magazine

How do your TBI POWER PLATES make more power than the others?
Our power plates use our patented design #d416618 which enables each cylinder to draw air from BOTH throttle bores and do so without disrupting fuel distribution. Remember, cylinders don't draw air at the same time as each other. One throttle bore can now "help" supply air if the other is no longer able to supply any more.
What about swirling the air like some other spacers do?
It is a fact that swirling air in the combustion chamber promotes a more complete "burn".
However, it's near impossible for air to continue swirling from above the intake, thru the intake runners, past the valve, and then into the combustion chamber - especially with "wet" fuel traveling the same path.  Chevrolet has already addressed this issue in these engine's.  They cast a vane in the bowl of the intake valve and designed the combustion chamber shape to create "swirl" exactly where and when needed!
Will other modifications work with your TBI POWER PLATES ?
Most definately.  In fact, most will not add much, if any, power without using our POWER PLATE since the stock tbi is the largest restriction of air flow.
If I were to purchase a TBI POWER PLATE what should be the next part(s) to change for more power?
1) The CFM Tech Injector Spacer and Hypertech Power Charger.  Add the High Flow Throttle Body to make the ultimate GM Tbi intake system.   2) Headers are next. Look for small diameter (1 1/2" is best) and the longest length primary tubes available. Also, find one that comes with it's own "y" pipe. Don't settle for cheaper and easier to install "shorty" headers. 3)  Cat back exhaust - we all usually do this first ( We do too! The sound is intoxicating!) but is not needed as much until the exhaust manifolds are replaced first. 4) The GM Tbi engine will now not be able to produce any more horsepower without addressing the camshaft, intake manifold, and cylinder heads. It is much easier to change these all at the same time!
How come I have not seen your Power Plate for circle track racing before ?
You probably have but it is impossible to notice when installed on an engine. The only way to see the difference is to take the PP-500 by itself and flip it over.  The top and sides are not altered. Plus, do you think a competitor is going to let you know about it?
Do you make spacers for other applications ?
Yes and no.
Yes - meaning we will make you a custom spacer , out of phenolic wood material, for  carbureted applications.  E-mail us with your exact combination and we will respond with the cost and how long it will take to make and then send to you.

No - meaning that many efi units are very, very different in application, location, physical dimensions, etc.  Much development is required for these.  Therefore we will not custom make these for an individual, however we are developing a few more now.  Keep posted to see what's new.
I put a higher flow flame arrestor (air cleaner) on my merc. 502 engine.  Won't that supply all the air that is needed for this engine?
Yes it will supply plenty of air but it does not address the problem of getting all that air into the engine.  The Mercruiser 454/502mpi's have a throttle body with a "face" that is rectangular and flat.  There is also a sizeable area between the throttle bores.  Our 454/502mpi Power Plate smoothly contours all of these areas into the throttle bores.  A clean stock flame arrestor with our PP-1000 will flow more air into these engines than an aftermarket "hi-flow" arrestor will by itself.  The best combo, of course, is a "high flow" arrestor and our 454/502 MPI Power Plate!
Note: We are currently working on a high flow flame arrestor set up to complement our PP-1000. Stay posted or send us your e-mail info. and we will notify you when it becomes avalable.
I'm looking to build the ultimate small block.  Can you help?
Sure, how about a rip roarin', in your face, 440ci blown and alcohol injected small block! Unfortunately without more exact info ie: year, model, transmission,  $$$$$, and how it is to be driven, it is extremely hard to answer this "famous" question. Feel free to e-mail us with questions but please be as specific as you can.
